Our Story
The story of Hackit
From mum’s home-made pizza to all of Norway’s kitchen gadget.
It was my mother who gave me the idea.
We had been eating pizza long before it became the nation’s Saturday favourite.
My older brothers’ friends became fixtures every Saturday, to my great despair — it was always empty before I was full.
Poor mum — she ended up making pizza for half the village. It probably wasn’t so easy to handle and finely chop the minced meat so it got the right consistency. That was, in fact, the very secret behind its great popularity together with a heavenly sauce.
Even though I was young back then, I saw how my mother worked with the minced meat. She took pride in making it light, flavourful — and properly cooked.
After many years as a pizza lover, I have now taken over as head cook in my own family...
That is perhaps the real reason I have pushed ahead with an idea I have had for a long time.
I have almost given myself blisters from all the shop visits trying to find something similar — but there is nothing on the shelves here in Norway.
Hackit is a unique solution — strange that no one had thought of a tool developed especially for chopping minced meat! Hackit, the tool you didn’t know you were missing..
Now it’s here, ready for homes everywhere!

We call it “Hackit”
Quite simply — and fitting!
With great help from industrial designer Hans Kotthaus at CCD AS and Erling Sundal of the Norwegian national chef team, we had the obvious solution ready.
"We call it “Hackit”. Quite simply — and fitting!"
